KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Alex Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern (Iowa) has been named the NAIA Men's Basketball National Player of the Week. Van Kalsbeek was selected based on his performance(s) from January 15-21 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/group nominees.

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Men's Basketball Player of the Week 

Alex Van Kalsbeek - Northwestern (Iowa) - SO - Forward

• Set a Red Raiders' record with 52 points against Midland (Neb.)
• Averaged 31 points and 8.3 rebounds a game over the course of three contests
• Shot 70% from the floor in his 52-point performance while not taking a single shot from beyond the arc
• Hit a buzzer-beating three to send the game to overtime against Doane (Neb.) on Saturday
