KANSAS CITY, Mo. – [Schedule | Bracket] Three of the four higher seeded teams were victorious on Friday for day two of the 2024 NAIA Men’s Basketball National Championship in Kansas City, Mo. No. 3 Morningside (Iowa) was the lone upset on Friday.

Game 5 – No. 1 Langston (Okla.) vs. No. 12 LSU-Shreveport
GAME NOTES/HIGHLIGHTS
- First appearance for the Lions was in 2004
- Langston has made eight trips to the NAIA National Championship Tournament to date
- The Lions held a nine-point advantage heading into the halftime break, 38-29
- G’Quavious Lennox led Langston led the Lions in scoring through the first half with 12
- The Lions were led in scoring for the game by Anthony Roy, 17
- Langston ended the game on a 7-0 scoring run over the last 2:52 of the game, with all seven of those points coming via the free-throw line
- Five Lions recorded double figures in the win: Anthony Roy (17), D’Monte Brown (16), G’Quavious Lennox (14), Toru Dean (13), and Cortez Mosley (10)
- Langston shot 47% and 24-51 from the field, compared to LSU Shreveport’s 43% and 21-49.
- The Lions outrebounded LSU Shreveport 34 to 24

- Indiana Wesleyan is in their 17th overall trip to the NAIA National Tournament, and fourth since the field was expanded to 64 teams
- The Wildcats trailed by three at the halftime break
- First appearance in the event was in 2007.
- Nathan Childress led IWU in scoring in the first 30 minutes of play, shooting 5-8 from the field
- Griffin Kliewer exploded in the second half with 18 points to lead the Wildcats in scoring with 26
- Four Wildcats finished in double-figures: Griffin Kliewer (26), Javan Buchanan (24), Nathan Childress (13), and Caedmon Bontrager (11)
- The Wildcats shot 31-68, good for 45.6% from the field
- 24 of IWU’s points came off turnovers
- Indiana Wesleyan grabbed 10 steals, compared to Arizona Christian’s two
- The Wildcats improve to 38-12 in NAIA Tournament play with the victory

- ACU ends its season with an overall record of 25-8
- The Firestorm have qualified for the NAIA National Championship Tournament 10 times and are now 13-9 all-time at the event
- Arizona Christian ended its eight-game winning streak on Friday afternoon.
- ACU shot 29-of-63 from the floor, good for 46-percent.
- They also shot 80-percent from the free-throw line, going 8-for-10
- Trent Hudgens led the Firestorm with 22 points, while teammates Mikah Blackwell and Dennis Flowers III joined him in double-figures with 13 and 11 points respectively
- ACU Shot 51.9-percent from the floor in the second half, compared to 41.7-percent in the first
- The Firestorm outrebounded Indiana Wesleyan, 43-33, with nine coming from Flowers III
Game 3 – No. 1 College of Idaho vs. No. 5 Madonna (Mich.)
GAME NOTES/HIGHLIGHTS
- This marks the 26th appearance for College of Idaho in the NAIA National tournament.
- College of Idaho held a two-point lead going into the halftime break
- First appearance was in 1960 as Albertson College
- Tyler Robinett led the Yotes in scoring in the first half with 11 points
- College of Idaho is 27-2 when leading at the half
- Robinett had an effective field goal percentage of 138%, the highest of any player from either team
- Six players from College of Idaho recorded double-figures in the contest: Drew Wyman (17), Samaje Morgan (15), Tyler Robinett (14), Johnny Radford (13), Caden Handran (11), and Jake O’Neil
- The Yotes shot an impressive 55% from the field
- Their 87 points scored are the most by a team at the final site thus far
- College of Idaho improves to 37-22 in tournament play and continues their quest for their third NAIA National Championship, after earning their second a season ago
GAME NOTES/HIGHLIGHTS
- Madonna made its fifth appearance in the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 2024
- The Crusaders end their season, 27-7
- Madonna trailed by just two points at halftime, 40-38, but were outscored in the second half, 47-27
- Madonna had three players score in double figures as Isaac Anderson led the way with 17, while Brendan Young and Matthew MacLellan each scored 13 points.
- The Crusaders had 13 steals in the contest, five coming from Anderson.
- Anderson also led the team in assists with four
- Madonna forced 15 turnovers and scored 19 points off of those turnovers
Game 4 – No. 2 Cumberlands (Ky.) vs. No. 3 Morningside (Iowa)

- First appearance came in 1937
- The Mustangs held the advantage at half, 37-28
- This year's Morningside team set the school record for points per game in a single season with 87.0
- Morningside has now made 20 appearances at the NAIA National Tournament
- Ely Doble and Joey Skoff led Morningside in scoring through the first 30 minutes with 11 points apiece
- Morningside outrebounded Cumberlands, 49-36
- The Mustangs shot 41-percent from three, while the Patriots were held to 16-percent from behind the arc
- Four Mustangs finished in double-figures, led by Ely Doble with 29, followed by Joey Skoff (18), Aidan Vanderloo (15), and Jack Dotzler (12)
- Joey Skoff is currently third in Morningside history in points in a single season while Ely Doble is fourth on that list
- Morningside improves to 21-18 in NAIA Tournament play
