Athletes of the week are evaluated on their performance during the week prior to the announcement. Each athlete is selected out of a pool of nominees from across the country

Week 8 (May 3, 2023)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Addy Wiley, Huntington (Ind.)

 

Wiley broke the NAIA national record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:12.53 at the Drake Relays. The Huntington freshman finished fourth among a field of professionals and later ran a 4:31 mile (3rd fastest time since 1987 for a collegiate athlete) at the USATF Road Mile Championship.

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Laurel Barber, Ottawa (Kan.)

 

  

Laurel Barber has the No. 1 javelin throw in the NAIA, winning the Drake Relays with a mark of 48.81 (160-01). That throw is the longest throw in the javelin in OU Track and Field program history breaking the mark of 148-00 that was set by Kirsten Schultz that was set on April 24, 1993, when she finished second at the NAIA National Meet (weight changes in the javelin in the spring of 2000).

Week 7 (April 26, 2023)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Talayla Davis, Life (Ga.)

 

Davis' 100m and 4x100m times are the best in the NAIA this season. She won the 100m in a time of 11.52 and placed second in the 200m with a mark of 24.23. Davis also was a part of the 4x100m relay team that won the event with a time of 45.87. Davis hit the NAIA "A" qualifying standard in all three events at the SSAC Championship.

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Machaeda Linton, William Carey (Miss.)

 

  

Linton won both the long jump and triple jump at the SSAC Championship, hitting the NAIA "A" qualifying standard in both. Her long jump of 6.22m leads the NAIA this season. She also won the triple jump with a leap of 11.91m

Week 6 (April 19, 2023)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Hannah Antkoviak, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)

 

Antkoviak broke a school record to win the 400-meter hurdles at the Gibson Invitational with a time of 58.81. Along with the school record, she also cleared the A standard and notched the fastest time in the NAIA so far this season. She also hit the A standard in the 100-meter hurdles (ranks fifth in NAIA) and the 4x100-meter relay.

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Tyler Fugate, Siena Heights (Mich.)

 

   Fugate hit an "A" standard in the Pole Vault setting the current top mark in the NAIA by .05 meters with a jump of 3.95m to win the event at the Don Kleinow Invitational.Tyler

Week 5 (April 12, 2023)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Praise Idamadudu, Cumberland (Tenn.)

 

Praise won two events at the KSU Invite. She posted "A" marks in three events setting the top mark in the NAIA in the 400m. She now holds top marks in the 100m, 200m, and 400m. She anchored our 4x100m relay team to help them run the sixth-best time in the NAIA

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Jennifer Batu, Life (Ga.)

 

   Batu's hit a massive toss in the hammer throw that not only bested the A-Standard by over 8 meters, but is by far the largest distance this season in the NAIA.

Week 4 (April 5, 2023)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Praise Idamadudu, Cumberland (Tenn.)

 

Praise Idamadudu took home a pair of first-place finishes at the UAB Spring Invite as she won the 100m in a time of 11.54 and the 200m in a mark of 23.58. Both times are at the top of the national lists for the season.

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Abi Stevens, Southern Oregon

 

   Stevens, a sophomore from West Allis, Wis., placed 2nd of 23 at the Pacific Multis on Friday. She claimed the No. 2 spot on the NAIA heptathlon performance list with an 'A' mark of 4435.

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Latavia Jack, Mobile (Ala.)

 

Jack hit the NAIA "A" qualifying mark in all three events. Her 100m time of 11.70 leads the NAIA, the 4x100m relay time of 46.53 is second in the NAIA and her 200m time of 24.31 is fourth-best in the NAIA

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Paige Manney, Tennessee Wesleyan

 

   Manney destroyed the competition in winning both field events she competed in with "A" Standards. She extended her No. 1 NAIA mark in the Triple Jump by .40m and is currently No. 2 in the High Jump. Manney also won the 100m Hurdles with an "A" standard time of 14.23, No. 3 in the NAIA. Manney became the first women's outdoor athlete in school history to hit an "A" standard in a track event to go along with her many accomplishments on the field side.

Week 2 (March 22, 2023)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Eryn Burke, Vanguard (Calif.)

 

Eryn Burke battled against NCAA Division I competitions at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational and more than held her own last Saturday. She furnished a pair of NAIA "A" qualifying times for the NAIA Championships in the 200 and 400 meters. She finished third in both races, covering the 200 in 24.49 seconds. That time currently ranks No. 1 in the NAIA. Burke also ran the 400 in 55.43, ending up behind only Navy's Molly Mangan (53.70) and Montana State's Caroline Hawkes (54.80).

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Paige Manney, Tennessee Wesleyan

 

   Manney won the Triple Jump, hitting an "A" standard in the process. Her mark in the Triple Jump is the No. 1 mark in the NAIA. Manney also hit a B standard in the 100m Hurdles.

Week 1 (March 15, 2023)

Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week: Alyssa Busker, Trinity Christian (Ill.)

 

Busker hit the NAIA 'B' standard in the 200m, and the NCCAA standard in the 100m, winning both events at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge this past weekend. She ran the 200m in a time of 24.78 and then posted a time of 12.22 in the 100m.

 Nominees: Libby Miller, Georgetown (Ky.) and Ally Swaim Central Baptist (Ark.)

 

Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Sarah Bolton, Georgetown (Ky.)

 

  Bolton took part in the Asbury Open this past weekend and came away with a pair of first-place finishes. She won the High Jump with a leap of 1.55m and then won the Long Jump with a jump of 4.83m. Bolton also earned a second-place finish in the Shot Put with a toss of 8.34m
