Keiser (Fla.) Captures Red Banner at NAIA Women’s Swim & Dive Championship

COLUMBUS, Ga. – [Final Results] Keiser (Fla.) led wire-to-wire and pulled away from the field to win the 2024 NAIA Swimming & Diving Championship Saturday night at the Columbus Aquatic Center. It marks the third-straight national title for the Seahawks, who finished with 655.50 points.

Keiser closed out the final day with eight, top-three finishes, including a pair of national titles. Aubrey Bach led the squad to a sweep of the top three podium spots in the 100 free with a time of 51.13, and led-off the Seahawks 400 free relay that posted a winning time of 3:26.65. Keiser’s Head Coach Adam Epstein was named the 2024 NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year.

Lindsey Wilson’s Maaike Broersma garnered a pair of national honors at the championship. Broersma opened the finals by pulling away from the field to win the 200 back with a time of 1:58.06. It was her third individual national title of the championship meet and her performance earned her NAIA Swimmer of the Year honors. Broersma also had the Swim of the Meet for her 100 back, where she clocked a 54.12.

St. Thomas (Fla.) finished runner-up with 405 points. Stella Warborn broke the NAIA record in the 200 breast as she touched the wall in 2:14.18.  The Bobcats also notched a runner-up finish in the 400 free relay, clocking a time of 3:29.02.

Riley Renaud of Milligan (Tenn.) pulled away from the field to win the 1650 free with a time of 17:02.33.  Gabby MacPherson notched a runner-up finish in the 200 fly. Those performances helped the Buffaloes to a third-place finish in the team standings. 

Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) placed fourth in the team standings after accumulating 315 points. Kayla Perry captured the 200 fly national title for the Tigers as she clocked a 2:03.92. 

Indiana Wesleyan rounded out the top five with 283 points.  The Wildcats posted a pair of third place finishes on the day as Olivia Cummins placed third in the 200 back, before Macy Schmidtgall scored a 189.10 on one-meter diving.  It was Schmidtgall’s second All-American accolade of the week as she was named the NAIA Diver of the Year.

Ashley McNamara of Aquinas (Mich.) recorded 212.65 points to win the one-meter diving competion.
