2022-23 NAIA Women's Swimmer/Diver of the Month

Swimmers/Divers are evaluated on their performance during the month prior to the announcement. Each swimmer/diver is selected out of a pool of nominees from around the country.

Month 4 (February 10, 2023)

Swimmer of the Month: Elisa Corradi, Cumberlands (Ky.)

   Corradi was dominant en route to being named the MSC Swimmer and Freshman of the Year as she won every race she competed in and set five meet records and two conference and school records. Corradi opened the championships winning the 200 IM with a season-best time of 2:04.09, which is the fastest time in the NAIA by over a second. She followed that up by going 4:28.87 in the 400 IM and 2:18.01 in the 200 breast to break both the school record and the conference record while holding the second-fastest time in the NAIA this season. Elisa was also part of two relays that broke the meet record and ranked second and fourth in the NAIA. She was a critical part of the Cumberlands team that captured their 11th straight conference title while setting a conference record for most team points.

Month 3 (January 27, 2023)

Swimmer of the Month: Allison Pearson, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)

   Pearson took the top spot in all eight events she competed in over two meets, including all four events against D-II Davenport (Mich.). She hit the provisional standard in all six of her individual events.

Isabella Song, SCAD-Savannah (Ga.), Elisa Corradi, Cumberlands (Ky.), Guiliana Galetto, Westcliff (Calif.), Sarah Motyl, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), and Riley Renaud, Milligan (Tenn.)


Month 2 (December 16, 2022)

Swimmer of the Month: Maria Basto, Cumberlands (Ky.)

   Basto had an incredible month winning nine races, achieving a pair of "A" cuts, and is ranked in the top five of the NAIA in five events. Basto clocked a 56.68 in the 100 back and a 2:03.09 in the 200 back in achieving "A" cuts in both events by over a half second. She was also part of UC's 200 medley relay that broke the school record and is ranked 2nd in the NAIA. Basto is continuing to add to her great Patriot career and is even ranked 10th in the NAIA in the 100 free while being a key part of Cumberlands relays.

Month 1 (November 11, 2022)

Swimmer of the Month: Allison Pearson, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)

   Allison Pearson hit the NAIA provisional standard in all 10 of her individual performances this season finishing first in eight of her 10 individual events. Pearson set a pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.83) at Lewis University, an NCAA Division II program. In the NAIA, she is nationally ranked first in the 100-yard breaststroke, and second in the 200-yard breaststroke. She was fourth in the 100-yard freestyle, sixth in the 200-yard IM, and 400-yard IM.
