Contest Guidelines
1. All entries should be submitted via the online form. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE ENTRY DEADLINE - NO EXCEPTIONS.

2. A brochure is defined as a publication produced as an everyday information piece for one or multiple teams. Game notes are defined as a publication produced as an information packet designed for a specific event or series of events, such as a weekend series, doubleheader or tournament.

3. All video entries must be uploaded to a video site such as YouTube, Vimeo, etc., for easy viewing and judging.

4. A special event webpage is defined as a special webpage on the athletics website dedicated to covering one specific event or series of events (i.e. capital campaign, facility renovation, tournament central page, tournament blog, etc.)

5. Only NAIA-member institutions are allowed to enter NAIA-SIDA publication contests.

6. Each NAIA-member institution may only have 3 entries per contest category.

7. Places will be awarded to the top-10 entries in each contest with 11 or more entries and to the top-five places in contests with 10 or fewer entries. Plaques will be awarded to the contest winner and certificates will be awarded to all those that place. Certificates will include the names of those submitted on the publication contest entry form.

8. Any entry not sent to the appropriate contest coordinator shall be disqualified. Any entry entered in a contest other than the one for which it is expressly intended shall be disqualified. Any entry that fails to include three copies and/or a properly completed publication and media contest entry form affixed to each copy shall be disqualified.

Motion graphics (video embedded photos) – Submitted by May 1
These are images used on social media that have a video embedded into the image.

Motion graphics (gifs) – Submitted by May 1
These are images used on social media that are short, animated images.

Gameday Program Contest - Submitted by May 1
The game day program contest is intended for gameday programs that are distributed to fans on game day. They can be anywhere from one page to booklets. All sports are eligible and submissions should include all parts of the gameday programs as produced by the Sports Information/Athletic Communications department. Entries will be judged on the inclusion of all pertinent content – including but not limited to rosters, records, date, time, schedule, stats, rankings and the use of graphics. Submissions should be in digital format submit through the online submission entry form.

Game Notes - Submitted by May 1
The Game Notes contests are for traditionally printed Game Notes packets for an individual game. Submissions will be judged on design, as well as ease of use, and the inclusion of information which would be useful for an individual matchup or week of competition. Submissions should be submitted via PDF and should include all elements produced by the Sports Information or Athletic Communications office.

Sport Poster Contest - Submitted by May 1
This contest is a combination of the former Single- and Multi-sport poster contests. Submissions should be designed to be displayed as a poster, and they will be judged on design, and inclusion of desired information such as school and sport names and schedules. Submissions are preferred in PDF format with the poster submitted in its entirety via e-mail or Google Drive/Dropbox Link (If the file size is too large to email).

Dr. W. Jack Bell Writing Contests - Season Preview/Review - Submitted by May 1
The Season Preview/Review contest is intended for written previews and reviews of a specific sport season. Entries will be judged on the inclusion of pertinent information - including but not limited to coaching staff information, player information, schedule information, and highlights of the appropriate season - quotes from the coaching staff, organization of the information and the grammatical structure of the writing.

Dr. W. Jack Bell Writing Contests - Game Recaps - Submitted by May 1
The Game Recaps contest is intended for written recaps of a specific game or games within a sport season. Entries will be judged on the inclusion of pertinent information - including but not limited to game flow and highlights, pertinent individual and team stats for the sport, and information about the next game on the schedule - quotes from the coaching staff, organization of the information and the grammatical structure of the writing.

Dr. W. Jack Bell Writing Contests - Feature Stories - Submitted by May 1
The Feature Story contest is intended for written pieces showcasing a story about a student-athlete or coach that is not bound by a single game or season. Entries will be judged on the inclusion of information explaining the nature of the feature, the grammatical structure of the piece, inclusion of quotes from all pertinent parties - whether directly connected with the institution or not - and the ability to tell the story in a manner that draws the reader into the piece.
Infographics - Events/Accolades/Breaking News - Must be submitted by May 1 
Exception exists for submission of spring postseason graphics as needed
These are social media graphics used to convey special events (banquets, guest speaker, etc.), accolades (Coaching wins, player stats milestones), and breaking news (addition of sports, new coach or administrators, etc.)

Infographics - Gameday - Must be submitted by May 1 
Exception exists for submission of spring postseason graphics as needed
These are images used on social media that pertain to gameday - pre-game, in-game or post-game graphics that include team logos/names, scores and important stats

Website Contest - Submitted by May 1
All schools are able to submit their website for judging as the top website in the NAIA. All that is required is submitting your website to the contest using the NAIA-SIDA submission form - do not use the form on the SIDHelp website, this is not the correct submission form.

Best Splash Page - Submitted by May 1 
Spring postseason exception available
All splash pages and computer or phone wallpapers are eligible for this contest. A splash page is defined as an image used to highlight something when you first come to your site. Wallpapers can be used for phones or computer backgrounds.

Best Wallpaper - Submitted by May 1

Publicity Videos (Max length - 5:00) - Submitted by May 1

These videos are meant as publicity for your sports teams. Examples of publicity videos include pre-game or pre-event hype videos, videos that highlight department or team achievements, player profile videos and the like. 

Season/Game Highlights (Max Length - Game (90 sec) Season (5:00)) - Submitted by May 1 
Spring postseason exception available
Max combined submission length of all videos of 10 minutes or less. Videos that recap a game or season with key components being intro and outro graphics, creativity/originality, use of school branding and the production and audio quality. These can be simple play-of-the-game type videos all the way to full-season recaps.

Call of the Year (Max length - 60 seconds) - Submitted by May 1
Spring postseason exception available
A new category in 2017. Audio and video submissions accepted, with judging emphasis on the call of the play rather than the content of the play. The primary judging will be on Description, Audio Clarity, and Post-play recap. Submission must be of only one play, not multiple plays edited together.

Feature Videos (Max length - 7:00) - Submitted by May 1

New category in 2017. A video story about a player, administrator or game staff that tells a story beyond the field of play.
