Message from Brad Cygan Director of Athletics Communications at the NAIA.

NAIA SIDs,

I hope this letter finds you well and filled with excitement during the athletic season. As we are in the heart of another year of NAIA sports, I wanted to take a moment and highlight some important staff changes and resources available to you.

Firstly, as many of you know about our staffing updates, I wanted to highlight the team here at the national office. our Senior Manager of Athletic Communications Katie Green; Katie brings a wealth of experience and knowledge. Additionally, Jeff Melton is in his third year as Manager of Athletic Communications, and we are lucky to have his expertise and dedication on our team. Lastly, I am excited to welcome Brandt McCall, who is in the midst of his first season at the National Office. Brandt had two successful years at Dakota Wesleyan University, and his fresh perspective and enthusiasm make him a valuable member of our team.

I also want to draw your attention to our revamped SID resources page. This page will serve as your one-stop shop for all the resources you may need throughout the year. From championship resources to logos and style guides, stat resources for both PrestoStats and SpikeMark along with national award information, all in one convenient location. Additionally, you will find a miscellaneous resources page to help you answer some questions you may receive from your coaches throughout the year, including legislation on countable opponents.

One important update in regards to PrestoSports customer care.

In case of emergencies, Presto has established an SOS Text Line at (424) 477-3786. We kindly ask that you only use this number for urgent matters only. If you have a case that you are waiting for a response about, please contact me with the case number, and I will do my best to elevate it. We want to ensure that this number is available for emergencies and that everyone can use it accordingly. To learn more about customer care and the opportunities available to you, please bookmark the following link to the NAIA MVP Portal.

Lastly, I want to remind you of the Scholar-Athlete nomination deadlines. While we will be announcing the 2023-24 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes surrounding each sport's championship, it is important to note the following deadlines:

- Fall Sports: September 30
- Winter Sports: January 31
- Spring Sports: April 15

Please ensure that no nominees are submitted after these deadlines as they will not be accepted. The nominee must be a sophomore or above at the time of nomination and use the grades from the previous semester.

On behalf of the entire Athletic Communications team, we are truly excited to follow your #BattleForTheRedBanner journey. Your dedication and hard work are what make the NAIA community so special, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside every one of you. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance throughout the year.

Here's to a successful and memorable athletic season!

Best regards,

Brad Cygan
