Tell us a little bit about yourself: My family is about to grow from three to four (due date of Sept. 12), with my fantastic and supportive wife, Lindsey, and my playful seven year old daughter, Sydney.  I became the SID at Missouri Valley almost by accident. I interviewed for a media relations position in the school’s Development office, but they felt I would be a better candidate for the SID position.  I took the job having no clue about the work an SID performs.  Our sports range from football to rodeo, basketball to women’s wrestling, so I had a steep learning curve at the start.  Now, seven years later, I couldn’t imagine going into another line of work.

Favorite Hobby: Running.  I’ve done a number of half-marathons, but no full marathons yet.  Gives me a chance to get outdoors and forget about work for a little while.

Favorite Memory as an SID: The 2015 NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball First Round game, when our men’s basketball team defeated Freed-Hardeman.  Our program hadn’t appeared in the National tournament in over 50 years.  With being so close to Kansas City, we had so many students, alumni and supporters at the game, and it created a fantastic atmosphere.  The game went into overtime, and we won in the final seconds.  It was a great night, and a great achievement for the program.
