Providence Sends Pool E to a Tiebreak Scenario

SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE] - In the 2024 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship pool play match between the Providence (Mont.) Argonauts and the Bellevue (Neb.) Bruins, Providence upset Bellevue with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-19) victory.

The Bruins led in total kills in the match (51 BU: 44 UP) but the Argos led in both service aces (2 BU: 9 UP) and blocks (10 assisted BU: 14 assisted UP).

UP had a balanced attack, with multiple players contributing to the win. Martyna Fiedler led the team with 11 kills, while Cabry Taylor and Bella Green added 10 kills each. Bella Thompson had an impressive 33 assists in the match.

On the defensive end for Providence, Ava Saiers led the Argos with 24 digs, while Sadie Lott and Bella Thompson followed with 11 digs each. 

For Bellevue, Eve Fountain led the team with 11 kills, while Haley Fleischman and Sidney Sledge followed with nine kills each. Mila Aiwohi had 24 assists in the match.

The three teams in Pool E are now tied 1-1. A tiebreak will be played to determine who will advance out of the pool to continue their Battle for the Red Banner. 

After the 7:30 p.m. CT matches conclude, Bellevue will play one set to 25 points against Marian (Ind.). The winner of that set will advance to play one set to 25 points against Providence. The winner of the second set will advance to the quarterfinals. The tie breaks will be streamed live.
