IU Kokomo (Ind.) Tops Midland (Neb.) in Four
SIOUX CITY, Iowa [BOX SCORE] In the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship match, the IU Kokomo (Ind.) Cougars defeated the Midland (Neb.) Warriors with a final score of 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21).
IU Kokomo had a strong performance, with a hitting percentage of .240 compared to Midland's .145.
The Warriors Brooklynn Snyder led her team with 19 kills and was followed by Jacki Apel's 12 kills. Delainey Vallinch led the team defensively with 22 digs.
On the other side, Mya Grigsby from the Cougars recorded 17 kills, contributing to their victory. Cali Cummings also had a standout performance with an attack percentage of .455.
This is the IUK's third pool play win in championship history.
IU Kokomo returns to play their second pool play match against Eastern Oregon on Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT, while Midland is eliminated from tournament play.
