Keiser (Fla.) Leads After Day 1 of NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving National Championships

Columbus, Ga. – [RESULTS] The 2023 NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships opened with three events Wednesday evening at the Columbus Aquatic Center.

  • Keiser (Fla.) won both the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard free relay.  The Seahawks touched the wall in 7:25.27 in the 800 free relay to break that NAIA national record of 7:26.93 set back in 2012.  Camryn Hudson, Liya Goupil-Lizekne, Rachel Braldey, and Aubrey Bach were the quarter of swimmers that broke the record.
  • The Seahawks are atop the team standings with 80 points as they posted a winning time of 1:42.28 in the 200 medley relay.
  • SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) has tallied 64 points to be in second place.  The Bees went 7:32.27 to finish runner-up in the 800 free relay, adding a fourth-place finish in the 200 medley relay.
  • Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) clocked a 1:43.97 to finish runner-up in the 200 medley relay to be in third place overall.  The Tigers accumulated 62 points on the tied.
  • Cumberlands (Ky.), St. Thomas (Fla.), and Milligan (Tenn.) are in a three-way tie for fourth place with 58 points apiece. 

The NAIA Championships will continue Thursday, March 2, with the second day of competition. Prelims are slated to begin at 9 a.m. EST and finals will start at 5 p.m. EST.
