KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sydney Shenk of Aquinas (Mich.) secured NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors and Valerie Lopez of Life Pacific (Calif.) was named the NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from September 23-29 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and X.

Sydney Shenk, Aquinas (Mich.) - SR - Forward

• Shenk continued her dominant performance again this week with back-to-back hat tricks.
• Posted a pair of seven-point performances in the Saints' two road wins.
• Averaged a .571 shot on goal percentage (8-of-14).

NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Valerie Lopez, Life Pacific (Calif.) - FR - Goalkeeper

• Lopez had a big week between the sticks as opponents were held scoreless.
• Making 14 total saves on the week, 11 of those saves came in the 2-0 road victory over Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.).
• With the big performance on the road, Lopez was a crucial part in the first win of the season for LPU.
