The Bees of SCAD Savannah (Ga.) Are Headed to the Championship Match For the First Time In Program History
PENSACOLA, Fla. - [Championship Bracket | Final Site Schedule | Watch Live | Live Stats] The Bees of SCAD Savannah (Ga.) continue their historic run in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship after defeating the fifth-seeded College of Idaho 2-0. The Bees will make their first-ever Women's Soccer National Championship Match appearance on Monday, December 9th.
The first goal of the game came in the 18th minute when Abigail Siddall scored off an assist from Ines Sommer, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead. The second goal came in the 80th minute as Mia Gomez found the back of the net with an assist from Sydney Chura, sealing the victory for SCAD.
SCAD Savannah dominated the shot count, with 15 shots compared to the Yotes seven. SCAD Savannah's goalkeeper, Saga Bryntesson, had a solid performance with two saves, while College of Idaho's goalkeeper, Alivia Brenchley, made six saves.
Overall, SCAD Savannah's strong offensive performance and solid defense helped their historic season continue. This win improves SCAD Savannah's record to 19-1-2. The Bees will take on the winner of the second semifinal match today between seventh-seeded Columbia (Mo.) and third-seeded Keiser (Fla.)
