2023 NAIA Women's Soccer Players of the Week - No. 4 (September 19)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lauren Marshall of Spring Arbor (Mich.) has been named the NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, and Micaela Owen of Southeastern (Fla.) has been named the NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from September 11-17 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Lauren Marshall, Spring Arbor (Mich.) - SR - Forward

  • The top goal scorer in the Crossroads League notched five goals between two games last week including a pair of game-winners.
  • Secured a hat trick (three goals) against Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) while adding a pair of assists.

NAIA Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Micaela Owen, Southeastern (Fla.) - GR - Goalkeeper

  • Secured a pair of shutout victories in her first two conference starts, highlighted by the first regular season shutout of No. 5 Keiser (Fla.) in conference action since the 2016 season.
  • Sits third in The Sun Conference with an average of 5.5 saves per game after finishing the week with 11 total saves between two matches.
