Orange Beach, Ala. – [Box Score] [Bracket] Keiser (Fla.) netted two goals in a matter of four minutes and 13 seconds in the first half to claim its first NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship in team history with an 2-0 win over No. 12-seeded Marian (Ind.).

After a back-and-forth battle to start play on a chilly evening on Alabama’s Gulf Coast, the Seahawks struck first with a rocket from the right side of the box from Tova Nilsson to give her squad a 1-0 lead.

Just minutes later, Matilda Ovenberger made it 2-0. The Keiser goal-scoring leader posted what may be one of the biggest goals of her career as she worked around a Marian defender to slide the ball just past Alexis Patenaude. The tally was Ovenberger’s 22^nd of the season and first of the championship final site.

Just over five minutes into the second half, the Knights nearly cut into the Seahawks’ lead. Chloe Ulmer put a head on a perfect cross from the far, right-hand side of the box, but sailed it just over the crossbar.

Keiser finished the match with a sound defensive effort as Nina Haeberlin shut the door on Marian. The senior recorded her 14^th shutout in the win and set a new Seahawks’ record for shutouts in a career with 24. Keiser finished its historic season 24-1-0.
