2024 NAIA Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week - No. 7 (April 2)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Mackenzie Simmons of Ottawa (Kan.) has been named the NAIA Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and Emma Rittman of Cumberlands (Ky.) has been named the NAIA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from March 25-31 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and Twitter.

NAIA Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

Mackenzie Simmons, Ottawa (Kan.) - GR - Attacker

  • Simmons tallied 12 total points in the win against (RV) Georgetown (Ky.) last week.
  • Notched 11 goals, one assist, and 12-of-15 shots on frame.
  • The Hemet, California native, was credited with 13 draw controls and a trio of ground balls.

NAIA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

Emma Rittman, Cumberlands (Ky.) - SO - Midfielder

  • The four-time National Player of The Week adds a fifth honor to her name after getting it done for the Patriots on the defensive side this week.
  • Rittman posted another record-breaking week with 12 points (eight goals, four assists), 11 caused turnovers, and two dozen draw controls.
  • Helped Cumberlands (Ky.) hold their opponents to a 30.4% clear rate in the two wins last week.
