2025 NAIA Women's Basketball Players of the Week - No. 9 (February 11)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jessica Carrothers of IU Northwest (Ind.) has been named the NAIA Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, while Mehgan Strickler of Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) has been named the NAIA Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from February 3 - 9 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Players of the Week are announced on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and X throughout the regular season.

NAIA Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week 

Jessica Carrothers, IU Northwest (Ind.) – JR – Guard

  • Scored 41 points in each of IU Northwest’s victories
  • Finished with a pair of double-doubles for the week (41 points, 10 assists & 41 points, 12 rebounds)
  • Averaged 8.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists during the period
  • Aided IU Northwest in victories over Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and Trinity Christian (Ill.)

 

NAIA Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week

Mehgan Strickler, Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) – SR - Guard

  • Had 13 defensive rebounds and 10 blocks in two wins
  • Added nine steals during the week
  • Had eight defensive boards, four steals, and eight blocks in a win over Park Gilbert (Ariz.)
  • Led Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) to a 1-1 record last week, including a win over Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.)
