2025 NAIA Women's Basketball Players of the Week - No. 7 (January 28)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jessica Carrothers of IU Northwest (Ind.) has been named the NAIA Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, while Deniya Thornton of Loyola (La.) has been named the NAIA Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from January 20-26 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.
Players of the Week are announced on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and X throughout the regular season.

NAIA Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Jessica Carrothers, IU Northwest (Ind.) – JR – Guard
- Averaged 33.0 points in a pair of wins
- Added 10 assists and three offensive rebounds for the week
- Finished the week by shooting 31-of-49 from the field for 63.3 percent
- Aided IU Northwest in wins over Calumet (Ind.) and St. Francis (Ill.)
NAIA Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Deniya Thornton, Loyola (La.) – SO – Guard
- Recorded seven defensive rebounds in a win over Middle Georgia State
- Added 10 steals in the victory
- Posted Loyola’s first triple-double since 2018
- Led Loyola to a victory over Middle Georgia State
