Dordt (Iowa) Opens Play in Sioux City with Win Over Langston (Okla.)
SIOUX CITY, Iowa - [BOX SCORE] In a closely contested matchup at Sioux City, Iowa, Dordt (Iowa) narrowly defeated Langston (Okla.) 55-51 in the 2025 NAIA Women's Basketball Championship Round of 16 inside the Tyson Events Center.
The game that highlighted strong defense and clutch performances. Despite a strong fourth-quarter surge from Langston, Dordt managed to hold on, securing the victory to improve their record to 32-2, while Langston fell to 31-3.
Dordt's efficiency at the free-throw line played a crucial role, as they converted 82.4% of their attempts (14-17), compared to Langston's 46.2% (6-13). Macy Sievers was instrumental for Dordt, scoring 17 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and dishing out six assists. Her perfect performance from the free-throw line (6-6) helped maintain Dordt's lead in key moments. Willow Bleeker of Dordt added nine points, all from beyond the arc, while Janie Van Donge contributed significantly on the boards with 15 rebounds.
For Langston, Diamond Richardson led the scoring with 20 points, shooting an efficient 58.3% from the field. Mikayla Woods also made notable contributions with 13 points and 14 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome Dordt's balanced attack.

The game remained competitive throughout, with Dordt outscoring Langston in the first half, while Langston closed the gap significantly in the final quarter, outscoring Dordt 17-14. Dordt advances to the quarterfinals for the third time and will face the winner of Cumberlands (Ky.) vs Marian (Ind.) on Saturday, March 22.
