KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Sophie Williams of Science and Arts (Okla.) has been named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week and Kylie Shottenkirk of Concordia (Neb.) has been named the NAIA Softball Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from April 15-21 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and Twitter.

NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week

Sophie Williams, Science and Arts (Okla.) - JR - RPH

• Williams received NAIA Pitcher of the Week honors for the second straight week after she delivered another perfect game for the Drovers last week, her third of the season and fifth of her career.
• Over her last 26 complete innings pitched, she has not allowed a single run and has struck out 51 batters in the same time frame.
• Over a pair of games last week, she tossed 12 complete frames, allowed only three hits, one walk, and struck out 22 batters for an average of 12.83 K/7.

NAIA Softball Player of the Week

Kylie Shottenkirk, Concordia (Neb.) - JR - INF

• Shottenkirk had a stellar week at the plate, over six games she was a combined .737 (14-for-19) helping the Bulldogs to a 5-1 mark.
• Scoring seven runs of her own, she also drove in 13 with two doubles, four long shots, and four walks for a total base count of 28.
• On the season, she is hitting .321 with five home runs, and 26 RBI.
