2024 NAIA Softball Players of the Week - No. 1 (February 27)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Allie Puente of Hope International (Calif.) has been named the NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week, and Kaylee Larkin of Taylor (Ind.) has been named the NAIA Softball Player of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from February 19-25 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unafilliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and Twitter.

NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week

Allie Puente, Hope International (Calif.) - SR - RHP

  • Led the Royals to a pair of sweeps last week against second-ranked Southern Oregon and NCAA Division III Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.).
  • In her first outing of the season, she tossed a complete game shutout and only allowed two hits.
  • Tallied 25 total strikeouts over the four games last week in 21 innings pitched.
  • Held a perfect ERA last weekend not allowing a run.

NAIA Softball Player of the Week

Kaylee Larkin, Taylor (Ind.) - SO - 1B

  • Hit .727 last week over four games.
  • Went 8-for-11 at the plate, with three doubles, two home runs, and seven RBI.
  • Swipped one base against RV Campbellsville (Ky.).
  • Posted a .727 OBP and a 1.545 slugging percentage.
