Week 10 (May 2, 2023)

Player of the Week: Ari Martinez, Dickinson State (N.D.)

  Ari Martinez batted .684 with four doubles, a triple, and 10 RBI as DSU went 5-0 on the week to run their win streak to ten games. She did not strike out on the week and added a walk and a stolen base. She also added 9.1 innings of scoreless work in the circle earning a win against Dakota State.

Pitcher of the Week: Kira Baker, Baker (Kan.)

 

     Kira Baker had three wins and one save this week without giving up a run as she also struck out 41 batters in the process including 15 batters in the William Penn game. Baker allowed six hits in 23.0 innings pitched during the week.

Player of the Week:  Riley Donovan, Southern Oregon

  Had the first 3-homer game in SOU history and hit 4 home runs while going 8-for-14 with 12 RBIs in SOU's series sweep of Warner Pacific (Ore.).Donovan now leads the NAIA in home runs (16) and RBIs (63).

Pitcher of the Week: Jordyn Ball, Central Methodist (Mo.)

 

     Ball posted a 3-0 record including three complete game shutouts and a perfect game against Peru State College. She finished the week with 16 strikeouts and two walks.

Week 8 (April 18, 2023)

Player of the Week: Priscilla Mora, Friends (Kan.)

  Priscilla Mora put together one of the finest weeks in Friends University history, batting .684 with four home runs and 18 RBIs. Explosive at the plate all week, Mora's finest moment came in going 3-of-3 with two homers and a modern era school-record tying eight RBIs to help the Falcons score a single-game record 25 runs at York (Neb.). She also drove in four runs in the first game win at York and got on-base at a .714 clip while slugging 1.474 overall in helping the Falcons go 5-1 for the week. Opening the week at KCAC front-runner Ottawa (Neb.), Mora went 4-of-7 with a double and two runs scored. Mora's big week now has her tied for fourth in the KCAC in home runs (seven) and fifth in RBIs (41).

Pitcher of the Week:  Annalise Wood, Georgia Gwinnett

 

     Annalise Wood set an NAIA record by tossing her third perfect game in a season during last Saturday's performance at Truett-McConnell. She went 3-0 with three shutouts for the week. The sophomore held Truett-McConnell, a team receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll, in check by retiring all 21 batters she faced in Saturday's 5-0 road win. That came off a performance at No. 21 Coastal Georgia where she finished the game by retiring the last 16 batters in that road contest. She struck out eight consecutive batters at one point in that game to finish the contest with 16 strikeouts. Wood retired the last 37 batters she faced to conclude the week. The Mt. Juliet, Tenn., native tallied 30 strikeouts in her 20 innings.

Week 7 (April 11, 2023)

Player of the Week: Athena Wheeler, Columbia (Mo.)

  Wheeler hit a home run in five of six games played, including the game-winner against Cottey (Mo.) to break their 29-game home win streak. She was 12-of-18 at the plate with a .667 batting average and drove in 17 runs to help lead the Cougars to a 5-1 record for the week.

Pitcher of the Week: Allie Puente, Hope International (Calif.)

 

     Puente is the Royals' all-time strikeouts leader as she continued with her great season as she led the Royals to three victories this past week. In the first game against San Diego Christian, she pitched a complete game allowing just one run on one hit while walking one and striking out 16. Then against Westcliff, she pitched 5 innings allowing one unearned run on one hit while walking one and striking out 10. Then against Embry-Riddle, she turned in her best performance of the year as she pitched a complete game no-hitter while walking one and striking out 16. She then made a relief appearance in the second game of the doubleheader pitching 4 1/3 no-hit innings while walking one and striking out 16. Overall she no-hit the Eagles on the day and struck out 22 of the 37 batters she faced. She went 3-0 during the week with an ERA of .30 while striking out 48. Puente leads the NAIA in strikeouts with 217, is tied for first in wins with 17, and is fifth in ERA with a 0.57.

Week 6 (April 4, 2023)

Player of the Week: Shae Sever, British Columbia (B.C.)

  Despite also being dominant on the mound over the past week, Sever was perhaps even more impressive at the plate as she racked up 12 hits in 18 at bats while driving in an incredible 18 total runs. Six of those 12 hits were for extra bases including two home runs. Sever was a single shy of the cycle in UBC's 13-4 series finale win over Warner Pacific on Saturday.

Pitcher of the Week: Kira Baker, Baker (Kan.)

 

     Another huge week for Kira Baker as she went 2-1 with a perfect game and a no-hitter, while allowing just one run. In her 19.1 innings of work, there were 58 possible outs and she collected 41 strikeouts.

Week 5 (March 28, 2023)

Player of the Week: Carolyn Dallimore, Friends (Kan.)

  Already having a spectacular season, Carolyn Dallimore exploded onto the scene this past week, slugging four home runs and hitting .556 in six games for the Friends University Falcons. Dallimore was on-base at a .625 clip and slugged 1.333. Dallimore is tied for first in the KCAC in batting average (.500) this season while ranking tied for first in the NAIA in home runs (10).

Pitcher of the Week: Annalise Wood, Georgia Gwinnett

 

    Annalise Wood turned in a pair of dominant pitching performances, tossing a pair of two-hit shutouts against Lindsey Wilson over the weekend. The right-hander struck out 15 batters and did not allow a base runner to advance to second base in Friday's 2-0 victory. Wood then followed by allowing another two hits, striking out 14 batters to secure the series victory on Saturday. The sophomore has tossed two perfect games among her six shutouts in 2023. Wood also ranks among the nation's leaders with 152 strikeouts and a 0.34 ERA.

Week 4 (March 21, 2023)

Player of the Week: Madison Lee, Columbia (S.C.)

  Madison went 12-21 at the plate, leading the team to a 5-1 week. Four of the 12 hits went for extra bases, including two home runs against Brenau (Ga.).

Pitcher of the Week: Allie Puente, Hope International (Calif.)

 

    A Junior from Fresno, CA Puente the Royals all-time strikeouts leader helped lead the Royals to six victories this week. In her first outing against San Diego Christian she got the start throwing a complete game while striking out 11 as the Royals won 4-3. Then in the second game of the doubleheader she pitched 2/3 of an inning to earn her first save of the season as the Royals won 3-1. She then started against OUAZ and threw a complete game shutout allowing just three hits and striking out 12. In the second game of the doubleheader she came in in relief pitching the final 4 1/3 inning allowing just one hit and striking out five as she picked up the win. Then in her third start of the week against ACU Puente threw her third complete game allowing just one unearned run while striking out nine. Then once again she came in in relief in the second game and pitched the final 4 innings allowing one unearned run on one hit while striking out six. She went 5-0 during the week with one save and an ERA of .70 while striking out 44. She leads the GSAC and is second in the NAIA in strikeouts with 143 and leads the GSAC in ERA with a .75 on the season

Player of the Week: Riley Donovan, Southern Oregon

  Riley Donovan went 10-for-13 with three home runs, four doubles, and 11 RBIs in SOU's four-game sweep of Providence (Mont.). She hit all three home runs while going 6-for-6 on the second day of the series. Donovan is now batting .526 on the season.

Player of the Week: Madison Nunn, Our Lady of the Lake (Texas)

  Madison Nunn led the Saints to a sweep of the No. 1 and No. 3 team in the NAIA. In games against Oklahoma City, she marked two homers and four RBIs, and against Science and Arts of Oklahoma she homered two and added three RBIs. Nunn is batting .319 and has a .411 OB% and .617 SLG.

   Another massive week for Kira Baker in the circle. She pitched a total of 24 innings for the Wildcats, going 4-0, throwing a complete game in all four games. She allowed just one run on the weekend, while averaging 15.75 strikeouts per 7 innings for a total of 54 strikeouts on the weekend.

  Mikkelsen had a great weekend at the plate, putting together two 4-4 games in four appearances. In Friday's win over Dakota State, Mikkelsen hit two home runs and had three RBI. She had two RBI each in Saturday's wins and had a slugging percentage of 1.133 on the weekend.

  Thames used 75 pitches to throw the first perfect game for Faulkner in 14 years, striking out 10 in her first start of the season.
