WISE, Va. - UVa-Wise sophomore Sarah Wiltshire completed an impressive 2012 season by breaking three school single-season records during the 2012 Mid-South Conference Tournament. The Moseley, Va., native went 5-for-13 with four runs scored in the tournament to surpass the single-season record for times at-bat, hits, and runs scored in a season.

With 195 at bats on the season, Wiltshire surpasses the previous record of 190 at-bats set by Brittney Lawson in 2007. Meanwhile, Wiltshire breaks the single-season hits record that was previously shared by current assistant coach Shelley Newton and former center fielder Maddi Ridenour.

Wiltshire’s 1-for-4 performance in the final game of the season gave her 69 hits on the year, breaking the old mark of 68. In addition, her four runs scored in the tournament allowed her to finish the season with 55 runs scored, toppingĀ Kendall Rainey's previous record of 52 runs scored in 2005 in her senior season.

Overall, Wiltshire finished her sophomore campaign with a .354 batting average, 69 hits, 55 runs scored, 18 stolen bases, and an on-base percentage of .411. Prior to the start of the tournament, Wiltshire was named second team all-conference by the league’s coaches.
