FAYETTE, Mo. – Central Methodist (Mo.) head softball coach Pat Reardon surpassed the 500-win milestone after the Eagles swept a Heart of America Athletic Conference doubleheader against Culver-Stockton (Mo.) on Tuesday.
"This is a great accomplishment and nothing I thought about reaching when I first started coaching," Reardon said. "I have been very lucky to have great assistants and players around me, as well as wonderful athletic directors, fellow coaches and presidents to work with and for at CMU. I especially want to thank my family who has supported me in every step of the way."
Reardon, who began at Central Methodist in 1993 and is in his 19th season at the helm, is currently 501-433 in his career, all with the Eagles. During his time in Fayette, Reardon has been voted HAAC Coach of the Year four times. He has coached two All-Americans and over 50 Academic All-Americans.
Reardon ranks second in league history in career victories, trailing only Jerry Breaux of Evangel. Breaux, also in his 19th season as head coach of the Crusaders, currently stands at 545-334-2.
The Eagles are 17-10 this season, undefeated in conference play and are riding a six-game winning streak.
