Pace Has Record Breaking Performance against Williams Woods

Jackson, MS - Belhaven softball freshman infielder Heather Pace had a record setting day this past Saturday in a home victory against 14th ranked William Woods University collecting 11 RBI’s in a 21-2 victory by the Lady Blazers. Pace went 5 for 5 at the plate recording two singles, two doubles and a grand slam home run helping her set a new single game school and NAIA national record.
The NAIA record of 10 RBI’s was previously held by Lakyn Newton of Shorter College (Ga.) in a game against Sewanee University of the South (Tenn.) on March 6th 2008. Belhaven’s Mallory Meadows had 10 RBI’s in a contest earlier this season on February 11th against Rust College in the second game of a double header.
Belhaven is currently 25-11 on the season and will take the field again on Friday in a double header at Lambuth University beginning at 2 PM.
