California Baptist No. 1 in first NAIA Softball Rating

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - California Baptist earned the top spot in the season's first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) softball ratings.  The Lancers earned 10 first place votes and moved up a spot from the preseason poll with 273 total points.

 

Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) also climbed a spot to No. 2 with 247 total points.  Lubbock Christian (Texas) Lady Chaparrals playing their inaugural season have a 21-2 record and are ranked No. 3 with 244 points.  Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) stayed at No. 4 with 236 total points while Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) moved up three spots to No. 5 with 232 points.

 

The second regular season poll will be released on Wednesday, March 26.
