May 2, 2007

OLATHE, Kan. - Despite losing one of its first-place votes to Oklahoma City, California Baptist earned 12 first-place nods and separated itself by 11 points from the Stars to keep the No. 1 spot in the NAIA Softball Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) moved into a tie at No. 3 with Simon Fraser (B.C.), while Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) held its ground at No. 5. At No. 6, Houston Baptist (Texas) stayed while Lee (Tenn.) moved into a sixth-place tie. The remainder of the Top 10 remained unchanged, as Vanguard (Calif.) rests at No. 8 followed by Shorter (Ga.) and St. Gregory's (Okla.).

The largest jump in the rating belonged to No. 16 Albertson (Idaho), who moved into the Top 20 from No. 25 last week, while Oregon Tech fell 10 spots, moving from its No. 13 position a week ago to its current spot at No. 23.
