Pair of National Records Set as Keiser (Fla.) Sits atop Team Standing

Columbus, Ga. – Keiser (Fla.) notched two wins, including setting two records, to remain in first place after three days of competition at the NAIA Swimming & Diving Championship hosted by the Columbus Aquatic Center.

• The Seahawks have totals points 450 throughout the competition.  The quartet of Matheus Queiroz, Noel de Gues, Angel Margaritov, and Hanno Boeckmann teamed up to post a national record time of 3:11.87 to win the 400 medley relay.  De Gues began the day by clocking a 51.43 in prelims to set a new NAIA record in the 100 breast, before clocking a 51.80 in the finals to earn the win.  
• St. Thomas (Fla.) notched three national champions on the day to remain in second place with 306 points.  Alex Marrero and Matt Mizell posted a one-two finish for the Bobcats in the 100 back, while Daniel Laureyssens won the 200 free with a time of 1:36.36.  Steven Aimable clocked a 47.29 to win the 100 fly. 
• Cumberlands (Ky.) utilized a pair of runner-up finishes to move into third place with 296 points.  Thomas Holzkammwas runner-up in the 100 fly, while the Patriots clocked a 3:13.68 to place second in the 400 medley relay.
• Milligan (Tenn.) is in fourth place with 246 points.  The Buffaloes Stephen Gilbert opened finals by winning the 400 IM with a time of 3:53.52.  Caleb Fry touched the wall in 53.56 to post a runner-up finish in the 100 breast.
• Capturing the final national title of the day was Nicholas Bohm of Bethel (Ind.).  Bohm carded a 271.35 on the one-meter board to capture his second national title of the championship.  

The NAIA Championship will continue Saturday, March 9, with the final day of competition. Prelims are slated to begin at 10a.m. EST and finals will start at 5 p.m. EST.
