WICHITA, Kan. - [Championship Bracket | Final Site Schedule | Watch Live | Live Stats] In game two of the 2024 NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship, Bellevue (Neb.) claimed a 1-0 victory over LSU Shreveport (La.). The Bruins will play Dalton State on Thursday at 10:00am CT in the Quarterfinal Round. 

In a closely contested match, Bellevue emerged victorious over LSU Shreveport with a final score of 1-0 on December 2, 2024. The winning goal came in the 62nd minute when Coehen Rusin found the back of the net with an assist from Giovani Lima Soares and Ombeni Mubake.

The game was a defensive battle with both teams creating limited scoring opportunities. The Bruins managed to capitalize on their chance and held on to secure the win. The match saw a total of 20 shots, with BU registering nine shots compared to LSU Shreveport's 11. Bellevue goalkeeper Taariq Ganga made a crucial save to preserve the shutout.

The game was not without its fair share of drama as there were several yellow cards handed out throughout the match. Bruin defender Fletcher Hedge received a yellow card in the 19th minute and then later a red card in the 79th minute, leaving his team with 10 men for the remainder of the game. Additionally, Kodai Tanaka and Buster Honeywood of Bellevue (Neb.) also received yellow cards.

Both teams displayed resilience and determination on the field, with the match being a true test of skill and strategy. Despite the loss, the Pilots put up a strong fight, but ultimately fell short against a tough Bellevue side. The win improves Bellevue to a record of 17-2-3, while LSU Shreveport drops to 14-5-4 on the season.
