KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Jamal Gibson of SUNO (La.) has been named the NAIA Men's Basketball National Player of the Week. Gibson was selected based on his performance(s) from January 8-14 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/group nominees.

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Men's Basketball Player of the Week 

Jamal Gibson - SUNO (La.) - FR - Forward

• Averaged 25 points and 24.5 rebounds a game over the course of two contests
• Set a SUNO record (through the 2003-04 season) with 25 rebounds vs. Oakwood (Ala.) and followed it up with 24 just two nights later against Fisk (Tenn.)
• Shot 62.9 percent from the floor
• Came two blocks short of a triple double in the first game of the week
• Now has a double-double in 17 of 18 games this season
