2025 NAIA Baseball GoRout Coaches’ Top 25 – No. 3 (April 2)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – LSU Shreveport (La.) collected every first-place vote for a second-consecutive rating, using a record-setting offensive weekend to get to 33-0 and No. 1 in the third regular-season edition of the 2025 NAIA GoRout Baseball Coaches’ Top 25.
A pair of Peach State teams – Georgia Gwinnett and Reinhardt (Ga.) – are at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, while Hope International (Calif.) got into the top five at No. 4, followed by Tennessee Wesleyan at No. 5.
Taylor (Ind.) was the only team from outside the top 10 to make its way in, at No. 10, and two teams entered the Top 25 from receiving votes, the week before, as St. Thomas (Fla.) moved up to No. 22, and Columbia (Mo.) entered at No. 25. Within the Top 25, Concordia (Neb.) made the biggest jump, up five spots from No. 17 to No. 22.
The next regular-season rating is slated for release on April 16.
Rating Methodology
- The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the NAIA’s baseball conferences.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater’s 30-team ballot. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed, and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”.
