KANSAS CITY, Mo. -  Arderrius Townsend of Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) has been named the NAIA Baseball Player of the Week and Sean Heppner of British Columbia has been named the NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from March 4-10 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffilliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular-season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Baseball Player of the Week

Arderrius Townsend, Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.) - JR - OF

• Led the Toppers to the first-ever sweep of No. 18 Mobile (Ala.) this week.
• He homered in all four games this week, including a grand slam in Game 3 of the seventh inning. 
• Townsend is currently hitting .479 on the season with 12 home runs, 38 RBI, 30 runs scored and slugging and incredible .957. 

NAIA Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Sean Heppner, British Columbia - JR - RHP

• Heppner set a new Cascade Collegiate Conference record with 16 strikeouts in an 11-5 Thunderbirds win over the College of Idaho. 
• Heppner pitched 6.1 and allowed just one run on one hit as he picked up his first win of the season.
