2023-24 NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 - No. 1 (March 13)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The first regular season NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 sees consistency at the top with Southeastern (Fla.) outpacing No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett for the top spot in the country. The Fire receive 18 of the 20 first-place votes, with the Grizzlies receiving the other two. Behind those two, the rest of the top 25 had had dramatic fluctuations since the last rating in November with nine new teams joining the ratings. Jessup (Calif.) and Faulkner (Ala.) leap from not receiving votes in Preseason Poll to being inside the Top 10.
Rating Methodology
- The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
- Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
