Players of the week are evaluated on their performance during the week prior to the announcement. Each player is selected out of a pool of conference and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) award winners.

Week 10 (May 2, 2023)

Player of the Week: Haydn Brown, Kansas Wesleyan

  Haydn Brown had an incredible weekend for the Coyotes, helping KWU go 3-0 and clinch the program's first KCAC Championship since the 2011 season. In three games, Brown went 9-of-11, batting .818, and had a .857 on-base percentage. He slugged at 2.273 for the week. He just missed the cycle in the second game of the series, only needing a single. He drove in 10 runs on the week, homered in every game, and twice on Sunday. His second homer of the day broke a 4-4 tie as the Coyotes pulled away in the final three innings for the win to clinch the conference.

Pitcher of the Week: JD Kirchner, Dakota State (S.D.)

    Kirchner went 2-0 record for the week as Dakota State (S.D.) went 3-3 on the week. He earned a victory at home versus Valley City State (N.D.) 19-9 in seven innings, allowing four runs (three unearned) on five hits. He struck out VCSU nine times. Kirchner followed up with an impressive performance in relief as the Trojans defeated No. 5 ranked Bellevue (Neb.) 9-6 in 15 innings affair in the four-game series opener. He did not allow a run in 8 1/3 innings in relief. He scattered six hits and struck out 12 BU batters. Kirchner finished the week with an impressive 0.67 ERA with an astounding 14.17 K/9 per inning ratio (21 total strikeouts).

Week 9 (April 25, 2023)

Player of the Week: Jhors Gomez, Southwestern Christian (Okla.)

  Gomez had an outstanding week by going 15 for 19 at the plate with five home runs and 18 RBIs. He hit for the cycle in a victory over Randall and drove in seven runs in the win. Gomez hit three home runs in an 18-7 win over Central Christian (Kan.). Had a 1.842 slugging percentage for the week.

Pitcher of the Week: Cameron Harvey, Bryan (Tenn.)

    Harvey tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout in a 6-0 victory over Reinhardt (Ga.). He struck out nine batters while allowing only two walks.

Week 8 (April 18, 2023)

Player of the Week: Luke Powell, Union (Ky.)

  Powell reached base in all five at-bats with a home run and five RBIs against Georgetown (Ky.). He had a streak of six consecutive plate appearances where he reached base then followed that up by homering in three straight at-bats to complete a three-game sweep of 14th-ranked Bryan (Tenn.) this past Saturday. His three homers tied a single-game Union record.

Pitcher of the Week:  Nick Crabtree, Taylor (Ind.)

    Crabtree picked up two key wins in relief for Taylor in its 6-0 week. Each outing went three innings, allowing just one hit combined alongside a total of 11 strikeouts. In his second win of the week, Crabtree put three straight 0's on the board against RV Indiana Wesleyan after the Wildcats scored seven runs in the previous two innings.

Week 7 (April 11, 2023)

Player of the Week: Gary Lora, Southeastern (Fla.)

  Lora moved his season hit streak to 16 with a hit in each game this week and recorded multiple hits in every game of the weekend series against Keiser and homered in each game against the Seahawks. Lora homered twice to help the Fire come back to beat Keiser in the first game, driving in four. His three-run blast in the fourth put Southeastern back on top. He had a 3-for-4 showing with a solo homer in game two and finished the series with a 2-for-4 showing with another homer and a season-best five RBIs. The returning All-American has 16 multi-hit games this season. Lora is hitting .533 in conference play with six homers and 19 RBIs.

Week 6 (April 4, 2023)

Player of the Week: Charlie Munoz, Cumberlands (Ky.)

  Charlie Muniz led the Pats to a 4-0 week after batting .824 and going 14-17 at the plate. He notched five homeruns for 17 RBIs. Two of his homers were grand slams. He also caught two people stealing.

Pitcher of the Week: Alan West, Central Methodist (Mo.)

    Threw just the second no-hitter in program history against Benedictine Sunday (Last came in April, 2013). Pitched a complete game and struck out 10 batters. The one run that scored reached on an error by the CMU defense, scoring on a sacrifice fly. He also picked up seven hits in 11 at bats, including two doubles, a triple, and a home run on the week.

   Incredible week for Tucker Zdunich. Had five home runs in four games for Reinhardt. 3 home runs in one game vs. Bluefield. .688 average for the week. .800 average in one game vs Bluefield. 3 doubles this week, 10 RBIs, 5 home runs, 12 runs scored, and 11 hits in 16 at-bats.

Pitcher of the Week: Andrew Davenport, Calumet (Ind.)

   In his only pitching performance of the week, Andrew Davenport threw a 7-inning no-hitter in the Wave's 4-0 win over St. Francis on Friday. Davenport saw the minimum 21 batters, striking out 9, with 1 batter reaching 1st on an error who then got out on a double play.

Player of the Week: Ryan Shavers, Cumberlands (Ky.)

   Ryan Shavers led the Pats to a 5-0 week, as he batted .600, going 9-15 at the plate with adding 12 RBIs and a stolen base. Shavers tallied home runs on the week, with two of them were two-run shots coming in the series finale against Bethel to propel the Pats to their first MSC sweep of the season.

   First no hitter of his career and new season-high 15 strikeouts.

Week 3 (March 14, 2023)

Player of the Week: Ajay Sczepkowski, Georgia Gwinnett

  Ajay Sczepkowski was simply outstanding as the No. 5 Grizzlies went 6-0 and outscored opponents 84-11. He hit five home runs and drove in 12 runs while scoring 14 runs. He scored five runs while hitting a pair of home runs in the first game against Madonna (Mich.) last Tuesday. The outfielder hit a game-tying two-run home run in the sixth inning against Iowa Wesleyan on March 11. Sczepkowski batted .524 (11-for-21) for the week.

Pitcher of the Week: Blake Crippen, Bellevue (Neb.)

  Crippen earned wins against a pair of top-10 teams in two starts on the week. He logged a 2.92 ERA over 12.1 innings. Held No. 8 St. Thomas (Fla.) to three runs over 6.1 this past Monday and followed up by limiting No. 1 Southeastern (Fla.) to one earned run on five hits in six innings on Saturday The win over SEU was BU's first over a No. 1-ranked team since 2014. SEU was 25-0 before the loss to Bellevue, averaging over 11 runs per game (16 per game over their previous nine games).

Week 2 (March 7, 2023)

Player of the Week: Devin Warner, Georgia Gwinnett

  Devin Warner had a monster week as the No. 7-ranked Grizzlies went 5-0 by hitting five home runs and driving in 12 runs. He hit a home run in four of the five games. Warner opened the week by hitting a pair of solo homers in GGC's 8-4 win in 11 innings at No. 3 Tennessee Wesleyan on Tuesday. He added a solo home run on Friday against Clarke. The junior then connected on two-run home runs during Saturday's two games against Clarke (Iowa) and Lourdes (Ohio).

Pitcher of the Week: Josh Smith, Blue Mountain Christian (Miss.)

  Smith moved to 3-1 on the season, tossing a complete-game, one-hit shutout with 10 Ks Saturday against Stillman (Ala.) to open the 2023 SSAC schedule. On the season, Smith sports a 3.38 ERA with 33 Ks in 32 innings pitched.

Week 1 (February 28, 2023)

Player of the Week: Hank Schineller, Georgetown (Ky.)

  Hank Schineller went 9-15 with 6 HR, 14 RBI, and 8 runs scored in Georgetown's 3-game sweep at Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) over the weekend.

  Oakes threw a complete game No-Hitter in a 1-0 victory over Bethel (Kan.). He struck out 12 batters while only allowing a pair of walks. Oakes faced 23 batters in the seven-inning affair.
