2023-24 NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Rating – No. 2 (October 5)

Women's Cross Country - Taylor University

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Taylor (Ind.) took top billing again in the second regular season edition of the NAIA Women’s Cross Country Top 25. The Trojans grabbed 19 first-place votes. Milligan (Tenn.) and College of Idaho remained at Nos. 2 and 3 respectively while Saint Mary (Kan.) jumped two spots to No. 4. The Master’s (Calif.) stayed put at No. 5 to round-out the top five. Montreat (N.C.) made the biggest jump, up six spots to No. 12, while Montana Tech, SCAD Savannah (Ga.) and Tabor (Kan.) were the newcomers.

Rating Methodology:

  • The Top 25 was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, and Unaffiliated Groupings.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
