KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Dayana Montenegro of Central Methodist (Mo.) has been named NAIA Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Machaeda Linton of William Carey (Miss.) has been selected as the NAIA Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from January 29 - February 4 and were selected out of a pool of nominees from across the country.

Players of the week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Wednesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Dayana Montenegro, Central Methodist (Mo.) - JR

• Competed at the Bearcat Invite
• Finished 1st of 24 athletes in the 600 yd run (1:22.84) and broke the program and meet record
• Finished 3rd of 58 athletes in the 400m dash (56.90) and broke the program record

NAIA Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week  

Machaeda Linton, William Carey (Miss.) - SO

• Competed in the Celebration Pointe Meet
• Finished 1st of 29 athletes in the long jump (5.96)
• Finished 1st of 13 athletes in the triple jump (12.7)
