SCAD Savannah (Ga.) Wins Third Straight Red Banner

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – [BRACKET | SCHEDULE] - The 4th Annual NAIA Women's Bowling National Championship crowned SCAD Savannah (Ga.) as the winner of the Battle For The Red Banner, the Bees third straight. The 2024 event was hosted by Lawrence Tech and the Detroit Sports Commission at 5 Star Lanes from March 21st to 23rd.

Round Seven Highlights

  • No. 2 Pikeville (Ky.) and No. 3 St. Francis met in the final matchup before the championship round.
  • The Bears were looking for a rematch with the Bees while the Fighting Saints had won four straight elimination games to reach Saturday play. 
  • USF won the first game 189-170 and the third game 193-146.
  • UPIKE claimed the second game in dominating fashion before rattling off three in a row to claim the victory.

Championship Round Highlights

  • No. 1 seed SCAD Savannah (Ga.) awaited the winner of Match 21, as the Bees were looking to win their third straight national title.
  • SCAD and Pikeville had met in Round 5, where the Bees won 4-3 by only seven pins in the decisive game.  
  • The Bees cruised to a victory in the first game, capitalizing on six trikes for a 203-169 margin.
  • The second game was neck and neck with the final margin being one single pin, as Pikeville held on to tie it 1-1.
  • SCAD opened up with three stikes in a row and then six consecutive spares lifted them to a 198-135 win.
  • The Bees built on advantage with a 204-193 score in the fourth game, thanks to two more strikes than UPIKE.
  • With their eyes on the prize of a three-peat, the Bees shot 223-181, with six strikes and five spares.   
  • SCAD Savannah has now won three straight National Championship titles.
