KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Matt Pennala of Saint Xavier (Ill.) has been named the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Attacker of the Week, Preston Schmidt of The Master’s (Calif.) has been named the NAIA Men’s Volleyball Defender of the Week, and Matthew Hamm of The Master’s has been named the NAIA Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week. The trio was selected based on their performances from February 10-16 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees.

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram, and X.

NAIA Men's Volleyball Attacker of the Week 

Matt Pennala, Saint Xavier (Ill.) – SR – Outside Hitter

• Totaled 27 kills in a pair of wins for an average of 4.50 kills per set
• Recorded an attack percentage of .447 on 47 total attacks
• Added seven digs and 10 assists on the week
• Aided Saint Xavier to wins over Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.)

NAIA Men's Volleyball Defender of the Week

Preston Schmidt, The Master’s (Calif.) – SO – Libero

• Totaled 35 digs for an average of 2.92 digs per set
• Had 18 digs in a victory over Stanford
• Recorded only four reception errors on 80 total receptions for a .950 reception percentage
• Led The Master’s to a 3-0 week with wins over Westcliff (Calif.), Menlo (Calif.), and Stanford

NAIA Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week 

Matthew Hamm, The Master’s (Calif.) – JR – Setter

• Recorded 121 assists for an average of 10.08 assists per set in three matches
• Posted 48 assists in a 3-2 victory over Stanford
• Added 18 digs with six kills and two total blocks for the week
• Aided The Master’s to a 3-0 week with wins over Westcliff (Calif.), Menlo (Calif.), and Stanford.
