Blue Devils Win to Send Pool C to Tie-Breaks

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa [BOX SCORE | POOL PLAY SCHEDULE] - In a highly anticipated matchup at the 2025 NAIA Men's Volleyball National Championship, No. 3 Lawrence Tech (Mich.) Blue Devils emerged victorious against No. 6 Missouri Valley Vikings, securing a 3-1 win in pool play at the Alliant Energy Power House on Thursday morning. 

The match commenced with Lawrence Tech holding the early lead and taking the first set 25-17. Missouri Valley, however, responded in the second set, winning it 25-20, and leveling the match at one set apiece. The third set saw Lawrence Tech regain control, winning 25-20, and setting the stage for a decisive fourth set. Despite Missouri Valley's efforts to push the match to a fifth set, Lawrence Tech maintained composure and closed out the match 25-22.

Lawrence Tech's offense was led by Nestor Addah, who delivered an outstanding performance with 22 kills and a hitting percentage of .500. Brendon Down and Mario Cid were also significant contributors for the Blue Devils, landing in double-digits with 17 and 10 kills, respectively. 

Luca Hasse was a standout player for the Vikings, recording 17 kills. Samuel Essilfie followed with 10 kills of his own. 

With the win, Lawrence Tech forces a tie-break in Pool C to be played on Firday at 8 a.m. CT.

The tie-break will be between Georgetown (Ky.) and Missouri Valley, playing one set to 25 points. The winner of the set will play a set to 25 points against Lawrence Tech following the first tie-break set. The winner of the second set will advance out of Pool C to the semifinals. Both sets will be streamed on the NAIA Network and Urban Edge Network.
