KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Master's (Calif.) overtakes the No. 1 spot for the third time in program history in the latest edition of the Coaches' Top 15 Rating. The Mustangs have opened the season with a 5-0 record, winning matches against top-ranked teams. Jamestown (N.D.) made the largest jump in the poll, improving six spots to No. 7. There were no teams that dropped out of the Top 15 this ratings period. 

Rating Methodology

• The rating was rated by a panel of head coaches. There are two coaches representing each of the conferences/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated groups.
• The Coaches' Top 15 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 20 points for each first-place vote, 19 for second place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
• Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
