2021 NAIA Men’s Volleyball Championship – Day 1 Recap
DES MOINES, Iowa – Eight of the 12 qualifying teams competed on day one of the 2021 NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Championship. Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.), Grand View (Iowa), Indiana Tech and Jamestown (N.D.) all captured wins on the first day.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Three matches were finished in three sets while one was finished in four.
- Three set scores at least one team surpassed 25 points. Two of those sets were in one match, Indiana Tech vs Campbellsville (Ky.)
- Lourdes (Ohio), Missouri Valley, Park (Mo.) and Vanguard (Calif.) will play their first match of the tournament tomorrow.
- Grand View (Iowa) is 2-0 vs Saint Xavier (Ill.) in championship play. The teams faced each other in pool play of the inaugural championship.
- Jay Montalvo of Campbellsville (Ky.) tied the most digs in a single match championship record at 20 digs vs Indiana Tech.
- Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) set a new championship record as a team with an 0.383 attack percentage. The previous record was set by Missouri Baptist in 2019 at 0.301.
