KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Michael Long of Ave Maria (Fla.) has been selected as the NAIA Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and Andrew Mitchell of Southern Oregon has been selected as the NAIA Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. The duo was selected based on their performances from March 4 - 10 and were selected out of a pool of nominees from across the country.

NAIA Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week

Michael Long, Ave Maria (Fla.) - FR

• Competed in the Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) Blue and Gold Meet.
• Finished 1st of 39 athletes in the 800m (1:50.60).
• Finished 12th of 37 athletes in the 200m (22.60).

NAIA Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week  

Andrew Mitchell, Southern Oregon - SR

• Competed in the Lane Open.
• Finished 1st of 27 athletes in the javelin (67.53m).
• Finished 3rd of 43 athletes in the discus (46.11m). 
• Broke the SOU record in the javelin by over eight feet.
