2021 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship

GULF SHORES, Ala. – [RESULTS] Doane (Neb.) and Madonna (Mich.) were crowned the 2021 NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Co-Champions after three days of competition at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Complex in Gulf Shores, Ala.

  • Jake Barraclough won the first marathon title for SCAD Savannah (Ga.) with a time of 3:38:00.
  • Kipruto Cherutich of Oklahoma City is the national champion in the 3000m steeplechase for the first time in school history.
  • Dillard (La.) with a team of Cody Branch, Willie McCaulley, Kaleb McClendon and James Pennington III won the men’s 4x100m with a time of 40.69.
  • Senzo Sokhela of Westmont (Calif.) won the 1500m and the 800m run with a time of 3:54.29 and 46.15 respectively.
  • Steven Anderson of Madonna (Mich.) won the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.76. Anderson posted the fasted time in the event since 2003.
  • Dylan Felger of Huntington (Ind.) won the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.18.
  • Jordan Highsmith of Indiana Tech won the 400m run with a time of 46.15.
  • Zayquan Lincoln was the third national champion from Indiana Tech in the 200m with a time of 20.55.
  • Tony Floyd of Madonna (Mich.) won the 5000m run with a time of 14:34.05.
  • Wayland Baptist (Texas) with a team of Demetrius Turner, Reggie Mouton, Donte Irving and Che’Lara repeated as the 4x400m relay champions with a time of 3:10.12.
  • Grant Gaylor of IU Kokomo (Ind.) captured the schools first individual national title in the shot put with a mark of 18.74.
  • Westmont’s third title of the day was won by Seth Wilmoth in the pole vault with a mark of 5.10. This mark matches the mark that the 2019 champion recorded as well.
  • This is the second consecutive year that William Carey (Miss.) has won the triple jump. This year Ineh Emmaunuel won the triple jump with a mark of 15.96.
  • Doane (Neb.) and Madonna (Mich.) tied the standings with 44 total points to become co-champions.
  • Doane (Neb.) earned points in the 4x400m, 110m hurdles, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, discus, hammer throw, javelin, decathlon and marathon.
  • Madonna (Mich.) earned points in the 200m, 5000m, 10,000m 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles and the triple jump.
  • Ineh Emmanuel of William Carey (Miss.) was named the outstanding performer and the most valuable performer after breaking the NAIA meet record in the long jump and winning the long jump and triple jump as well as placing second in the 100m.
  • All competitors that finished in the top eight of their events were named All-Americans.
