MESA, Ariz. - [Championship Schedule] After Round Two at the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship, the cut was made, allowing 18 teams and 5 individual golfers to continue battling for the Red Banner. Action continues tomorrow as Round 3 is set to begin at 7:00 a.m. PST with teams teeing off of holes #1 and #10.

Golfers took to the course early this morning to finish the remainder of Round 1 that was postponed yesterday due to sustained lightning strikes.  Some groupings had as many as 8 holes left to play before taking a brief pause and then heading right back to the first tee to open up the second round.  Weather conditions improved drastically from the first day, with hardly a cloud in the sky and nothing more than a gentle breeze for the afternoon pairings.  

The sun took its toll on the afternoon tee times, leading to very few scores at or below par.  Five of the top ten individual players started well outside the top ten to start their rounds today, but took advantage of the morning pairings to score well.  As a team, The Master’s (Calif.) made the biggest jump up the leaderboard to end the day in fourth after starting the round in thirteenth.  

British Columbia vaulted into contention being the only team to score in red numbers on the day, putting them in solo second place for the tournament.  As a team Keiser (Fla.) shot +4 for the round but were still able to hold the top spot on the leaderboard and remain as the only team under par.  They hold a four shot lead on the field as they attempt to defend their 2022 national title.
