2023 NAIA Football Players of the Week - No. 9 (October 30)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -  Joaquin Collazo III of Bethel (Tenn.) has been named the NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week, Bradley Myers from Evangel (Mo.) has been named the NAIA Football Defensive Player of the Week, and Tyson Denkert of Midland (Neb.) has been named the NAIA Football Special Teams Player of the Week.  The trio was selected based on their performances from October 23-29 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unaffiliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular-season on Monday's on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week

Joaquin Collazo III, Bethel (Tenn.) - SR - Quarterback

  • Set a new single game program record with eight touchdown passes. 
  • Five different Wildcats had touchdown receptions in Bethel's 62-0 win.
  • Completed 77% of his passes as he went 28-of-36 attempts for 385 yards. 

 


NAIA Football Defensive Player of the Week

Bradley Myers, Evangel (Mo.) - SO - Linebacker

  • Totaled 20 tackles for the Valor against McPherson (Kan.). 
  • Added two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss.  
  • Leads the NAIA in total tackles this season. 

 


NAIA Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Tyson Denkert, Midland (Neb.) - SO - Kick Returner/Running Back

  • Returned a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown. 
  • Combined for 204 return yards (158 off kickoffs and 46 on punts).
  • Added 215 rushing yards and a touchdown.
