2023 NAIA Football Players of the Week - No. 10 (November 6)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -  Terrel Hookfin of Texas College has been named the NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week, Chevis Elliot from Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) has been named the NAIA Football Defensive Player of the Week, and Dylan Alford of SAGU (Texas) has been named the NAIA Football Special Teams Player of the Week.  The trio was selected based on their performances from October 30 - November 5 and were chosen out of a pool of conference/Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)/unafilliated group nominees. 

Players of the Week are announced weekly throughout the regular-season on Tuesdays on naia.org, Instagram and Twitter.

NAIA Football Offensive Player of the Week

Terrel Hookfin, Texas College - Quarterback

  • Went 19-for-32 and 336 yards with five touchdowns against Wayland Baptist (Texas). 
  • Added 13 rushes for 141 yards and a score in the victory.
  • Averaged 10.5 yards per pass and 10.8 yards per rush.  

 


NAIA Football Defensive Player of the Week

Chevis Elliot, Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) - SO - Defensive Back

  • Recorded a pick-six in the second quarter after perfectly reading a Cumberland (Tenn.) screen pass. 
  • Also recovered a Phoenix fumble on the opening kick-off and returned it 15 yards for his second touchdown of the game. 
  • Added two tackles. 

 


NAIA Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Dylan Alford, SAGU (Texas) - SR - Kick Returner/Wide Receiver

  • Scored two kick return touchdowns against Oklahoma Panhandle State.
  • First touchdown was for 96 yards and the second for 80. 
  • Totaled 176 return yards on just three attempts.
