2020 NAIA Football Game of the Week No. 4

Football - Concordia University Nebraska

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that the NAIA Football Game of the Week for October 24 will be Dordt (Iowa) at Concordia (Neb.). The game was selected by fans across the country in an online vote.

In a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) battle, both Dordt and Concordia enter Saturday’s clash at 4-1 on the year, looking to keep pace with conference leader and two-time defending national champion Morningside (Iowa) in 2020.

Dordt will enter the contest with perhaps an early favorite for NAIA Player of the Year in Noah Clayberg. The University of Iowa transfer has transitioned from defense and special teams in his time with the Hawkeyes to quarterback with the Defenders. Overall on the season, the dual threat ranks No. 1 in the nation in rushing yards (528) and No. 2 in total scoring with 54 points to his credit. Additionally, the junior ranks No. 11 in the NAIA in total passing with just shy of 1,000 yards this season.

Concordia is coming off a difficult 31-17 loss to Northwestern (Iowa). The team is in the midst of its toughest stretch of games this season, now taking-on Dordt prior to a showdown with Morningside next week.

The Bulldogs have perhaps one of the most balanced offenses in the country this season to go along with a defense that will pressure the quarterback. Senior Chase Hammons is ranked No. 2 in the nation in sacks with five on the year. As a unit, the Concordia defense is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA with 19 total sacks this season.
