St. Ambrose (Iowa) Wins Fourth Red Banner Since 2018

YPSILANTI, Mich. – For the second year in a row, and the fourth time since 2018, St. Ambrose (Iowa) departs the Nfinity NAIA Competitive Dance National Championships with the Red Banner in tow. They extended their program dominance in the 8th annual event, hosted by the Ann Arbor Sports Commission at the George Gervin GameAbove Center on the campus of Eastern Michigan.

Finals Performance Highlights

  • The Bees outlasted the Warriors of Midland (Neb.) by .36 to leave the championship with the hardware.
  • St. Ambrose (Iowa) posted the second highest score in championship history, trailing only their 2023 title winning score. 
  • Previously in the day, the SAU Dance team also claimed the NAIA National Championship.
  • Midland (Neb.) finished as the runners-up for the second time, to go along with two championships and a pair of third place marks. 
  • Baker (Kan.) took home the third place trophy for the second time.
  • The Vikings of Grand View (Iowa) are fourth place for the third time in program history. 
  • Baker (Kan.) wins the tiebreaker over Grand View (Iowa) based on Section D, Article 4, Letter G of the 2023-24 NAIA Competitive Dance Rulebook.
  • The Wildcats of Baker (Kan.), the Tigers of Doane (Neb.), the Yellowjackets of Graceland (Iowa), and the V-Hawks of Viterbo (Wis.) moved up the final standings from their prelims placing. 
  • Baker (Kan.), Graceland (Iowa), Grand View (Iowa), Midland (Neb.), St. Ambrose, and St. Francis (Ill.) did not receive any deductions.
  • Graceland (Iowa) and St. Francis (Ill.) competed in the event for the first time. 
  • Ten of the 12 teams competing in the championship this season also were in the 2023 event. 
  • Aquinas (Mich.), Baker (Kan.), Grand View (Iowa), Midland (Neb.), Oklahoma City, and St. Ambrose (Iowa) have qualified for the championship each season the NAIA has hosted the competition.
  • Day One scores count for 25% of the combined total, leaving the last 75% of the score to be calculated from Saturday’s Finals performances.
