PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – [SCHEDULE | BRACKET] The NAIA Women’s Beach Volleyball Invitational opened up play on Thursday with pool play to decide the placement of the teams in bracket play.

Pool A

Westcliff (Calif.) def. Park (Mo.) 3-2

Park (Mo.) def. OUAZ (Ariz.), 3-2

Westcliff (Calif.) def. OUAZ (Ariz.), 3-1

• Westcliff went undefeated in pool play
• The one (Marine Kinna and Fiona Moesching), two (Gianna Guinasso and Mia Scheepens) and five (Brooke Scheidle, Rena Comer) positions for Westcliff did not drop a match on the day. The one and two positions did not drop a set.
• The three (Melis Knaut and Carla Pons) and four (Maria Ramos and Patricia Libeda) positions for Park (Mo.) did not lose a match today.
• The Park vs OUAZ (Ariz.) match saw all positions go to three sets and was the only match for that to happen.
• Westcliff did not drop a set at any position against OUAZ as all courts finish in two sets.

Pool B

Webber (Fla.) def. Corban (Ore.), 3-2

Vanguard (Calif.) def. Webber (Fla.), 3-2

Corban (Ore.) def. Vanguard (Calif.), 5-0

• The one (Megan Dennis and Avari Ridgway) and three (Kealani Ontai and Ally Schmidt) positions for Corban (Ore.) went undefeated on the day.
• Corban was the only team to win a match 5-0.
• The twos positions for Webber of Bailey Sikkema and Kendall Steinert went undefeated in both matches today.
• Because each team won one match during pool play sending the pool into a tie-break scenario. Via tie-break procedures, Vanguard and Webber played on set at each position to determine who would advance to play Corban. Vanguard won the opening tiebreak played to a 3-0 decision and advanced to play Corban to decide the one seed out of the pool. Corban won against Vanguard 4-1 as all matches finished within minutes of each other.
