PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – [SCHEDULE | RESULTS | BRACKET] Corban (Ore.) and Vanguard (Calif.) made their way through bracket play on Friday of the 2022 NAIA Beach Volleyball Invitational.

First Round

Webber (Fla.) def. Park (Mo.), 4-1

Corban (Ore.) def. Ottawa (Ariz.), 3-2

• The teams playing in the first round finished either second or third in their pool.
• Webber (Fla.) turned over a new leaf in Friday’s action after only winning three matches in two games on Thursday and defeated Park (Mo.) 4-1.
• Park’s only match win on the day came at the three's position.
• The win for Webber advanced the Warriors to the semifinals to face Vanguard (Calif.)
• Corban (Ore.) and Ottawa (Ariz.) battled from start to finish in their first-round game
• The teams tied at two matches apiece waited to see the result at the four's position to decide the winner of the match.
• Three of the five matches in both first-round matches went to three sets.  
• The win for Corban advanced the Warriors to the semifinals to face Westcliff (Calif.) in a repeat of the California Pacific/Cascade Collegiate Conference Grouping championship where Westcliff won 4-1.

Semifinals

Vanguard (Calif.) def. Webber (Fla.), 4-1

Corban (Ore.) def. Westcliff (Calif.), 3-0* played to decision

• All three teams from pool A advanced to the semifinals. The only team from pool B to play in the semifinals was Westcliff (Calif.)
• Vanguard (Calif.) and Westcliff won their respective pools, which gave them a bye to the semifinals.
• Vanguard (Calif.) faced their pool A opponent in the semifinal where Vanguard won 4-1. The Lions got the same result vs Webber in the semifinal but the one loss came at the two's position as opposed to the fives in pool play.
• Corban (Ore.) and Westcliff played their match to decision. Corban was able to lock in their spot in the semifinals with a sweep posting wins at the one, four and five positions. The two and three positions were playing their third set when the fours captured the final win needed.
• Corban dealt Westcliff only its second loss of the season. The only other loss Westcliff faced was against Vanguard.

The finals between Corban and Vanguard will take place in Panama City Beach, Florida, by Russell-Fields Pier at noon CT. The winner will be the first NAIA Women’s Beach Volleyball Invitational Champion.
